Human resources management plan

(Managing the output of human resources)

Human resources management plan is a guidance on the definition, distribution, management and dismiss of human resources of a project.

Project Organizational Structure (OBS)

Staff Management Plan describes when and how project team members will be acquired and how long they will work on the project. The plan includes staffing, resource calenda, training, recognition and rewards and compliance.

Procurement Management Plan

It describes how the project team acquires goods and services from outside the organization, and how to manage each procurement process from the procurement documents to contract closing.

Stakeholder Management Plan

 (Planning stakeholder management output)

A management strategy to motivate the stakeholder to participate in. Apart from the information in the stakeholder register, the Stakeholder Management Plan includes: the required and current level of engagement of key stakeholders. The scope and influence of stakeholder changes. Interrelationships and potential overlapping between stakeholders. The communication needs of stakeholders in each phase of the project. Information that needs to be distributed to stakeholders. (Language, format, content and degree of detail) Reasons for distributing relevant information and the potential impact on stakeholders. The time frame and frequency of distribution of the required information to stakeholders. Methods for updating and optimizing the stakeholder management plan as the project moves forward. Scope Baseline (Breaking down WBS output). Scope baseline is an integral part of project management plan.

It demonstrates the interconnectivity of activities; and planned dates; duration; milestones and resources required. The planned start date and end date for each activity should be at least included; either in general or detailed graphical representation.

Milestone Diagram is similar to a crosswalk diagram indicating only the planned start or completion dates for key deliverables.

Crosswalk (Gantt Chart): Progress activities and dates are arranged on the vertical and horizontal axes, respectively. It is commonly used for reporting to the management.

Progress Network Diagram. It is also called a logical crosswalk diagram. Generally, it shows both the project network logic; and progress activities on the critical path of the project.

Cost benchmark

(Developing budget output)

An approved Budget as Completed (BAC) with funds allocated by time period. It does not include management reserves.

It is used to measure and monitor overall project cost performance, usually expressed as an S-curve. Large projects often have multiple cost benchmarks to measure all aspects of cost performance (internal labor/outside subcontracting). Cost benchmarks are also known as Performance Measurement Benchmarks (PMB). Other elements of the project management plan:

2. Project governance: project governance provides a comprehensive and unified approach to control the project and ensure the success of the project. The method should be documented in the project management plan and must be adapted to the broader environment of the project set or project sponsoring organization.
